Description
Looking across the draw bridge at the entrance to Fort George a garrison near Ardersier, northeast of Inverness in Scotland. The fort was constructed by the British after the Jacobite uprising in the mid 18th century. It remains in continuous use and has never been attacked. While it continues to serve as an army barracks it is now open to the public and offers exhibits and museums that demonstrate the history of the fort and the Scottish Highlands.
